Meetings & Events Diary
Our monthly meetings take place on the last Tuesday of most months, running from 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the Small Hall at Hadleigh United Reformed Church, 1 Church Road, Hadleigh, Essex, SS7 2DQ.
The church is located at the western end of Church Road, directly opposite the car park for the Iceland store. Parking is available in the car park behind the adjacent Choice store.
Meeting Fee:
- £2.50 for members (includes refreshments)
- £4.00 for friends and neighbours
Evening Echo Archive Project
This month’s meeting will feature a presentation on the Evening Echo Negatives Archive Project, which is preserving an extraordinary collection of local press photography. The Evening Echo—now The Echo in south Essex—holds an estimated two million negatives documenting life from the 1960s to the 1990s. A member of AGES‑AHA, who has been part of the volunteer team, will talk us through the ongoing work to rescue, scan, and catalogue portions of this historic Basildon‑based archive
