Meetings & Events Diary
Our monthly meetings take place on the last Tuesday of most months, running from 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the Small Hall at Hadleigh United Reformed Church, 1 Church Road, Hadleigh, Essex, SS7 2DQ.
The church is located at the western end of Church Road, directly opposite the car park for the Iceland store. Parking is available in the car park behind the adjacent Choice store.
Meeting Fee:
- £2.50 for members (includes refreshments)
- £4.00 for friends and neighbours
AGES Dig – Looking for a Roman Road at Hadleigh United Reformed Church
Come and join the search for a Roman road running through Hadleigh. We will be digging on the front lawn of Hadleigh United Reformed Church, aiming to confirm or provide further evidence of the road. Prior excavations and geophysical surveys have identified the most likely location, and we hope to uncover pottery or other items that will help date the road.
Non‑AGES members who would like to take part in the digging or help with pot‑washing are very welcome. A Temporary Digging Membership (£5) covers all four days of the dig and includes reduced admission (£2.50) to both the preparatory meeting on 30 June (which you are encouraged to attend) and the report‑back meeting on 25 August.
