Meetings & Events Diary
Monthly meetings take place on the last Tuesday of most months from 7.30pm to 9.30pm in the Small Hall at Hadleigh United Reformed Church, 1 Church Road, Hadleigh, Essex, SS7 2DQ.
The church can be found at the western end of Church Road in Hadleigh, opposite the car park for the Iceland store. There is parking available in the car park behind the adjacent Choice store.
There is a meeting fee of £2.50, which includes refreshments. Friends and neighbours are welcome to come with a member, as their guest, to any meeting.

On front lawns of two Church Road properties - All participants have to be AGES AHA members, but temporary membership is available at £5 to cover the 7th and/or 8th June. Meet at the United Reformed Church at 8.30am. (Compulsory training for any participants not previously briefed in test pit safety in the church from 9am to 10am). Dig to approx 4.30pm.Find out more »

Thanks to Lottery funding, this will be a FREE meeting at which Terry Barclay will give a presentation showing the activities so far within the project and the ongoing reseacrh into information to be provided eventually for local schoolchildren and residents. Non members are welcome to this meeting, but space is limited, so please arrive early (from 7pm) if you wish to make sure of a seat.Find out more »
Club members and guests will be gathering, this time for a specially extended session to support our current Romans in Hadleigh Lottery project, in groups around tables to record and photograph items found in different areas of our recent fieldwalk and nearby. Hopefully, learning from our October session and recent identifications by professional archaeologists, we will confirm at least some more possibly Roman tile, before the pottery is all sent off for professional identification and dating by Paul Blinkhorn.Find out more »
There will be displays and talks throughout the day on local history. The Hadleigh and Thundersley Community Archive Group and Hadleigh Heritage Group will also be present with displays and information on Hadleigh.Find out more »

Come to the old part of the church and see finds dug up on the Wednesday by AGES at St Peter's Field and at Kingston School and by Southend High School for Boys students at various other pits around Thundersley.
